Please provide me reseller infor for quick books desktop version.
Hi Kary,
Would you mind sending an email to [email protected] and we can get you the reseller information. Thanks so much!
I use Pro 2020 but don’t use any of those add-on’s you mention. However, on occasion I get a prompt to “login”. Will it stop asking me to do that? In the past/current, I couldn’t continue in QB without logging in so I want to make sure that stops so that I can keep using my version. Thanks
Hello Tamera,
It will probably still ask you to login. They now have a End User Agreement that you have to sign.
Have a great day!
I am on QBPro 2020 and I pay the annual fee for the enhanced payroll services (for tax updates). So from what you are indicating, I can keep QBPRO 2020 desktop but will have to pay an annual subscription fee (I assume to get patches, etc.) and continue to pay for enhanced payroll subscription. Or I can go to QBPRO online (pay subscription fee). Either way, we will be required to pay an annual subscription fee for QBPRO (in addition to the payroll subscription fee). Is that correct? Or do i have to move to online QBPRO to continue to use the payroll services?
On another note, I also have QB Point of Sale and will be required to move off of that to one of the other POS systems (although Intuit is partnering with Shopify). Does your company offer guidance/assistance on this transition?
Thank you!
Hi Matt,
Yes, that is correct. You do not need to move to Online to use Payroll, you can purchase it along with Desktop Pro. This has to be purchased through a reseller however. If you’d like the contact information for the one we work with, you can reach out to us at [email protected].
We do not offer technical/transition services ourselves; Candus teaches her community how to use the software for your business through her workshops and training programs but does not offer 1:1 sessions.
Have a great day! ~Kindra/Team Candus
So are you saying that we need to purchase the payroll through reseller-which I’m not sure what that means and not intuit like we have in the past? Could you explain what reseller is?
Hi Ruth,
I believe you can still purchase through Intuit, you’ll just need to call them and they are encouraging everyone to purchase QBO. They are no longer selling in retail stores either and you can’t find Desktop Pro 2023 on their website. A QB reseller is someone affiliated with QuickBooks who is allowed to still sell it to the public. ~Kindra/Team Candus
I have been using QB Desktop for Mac 2020 for a few years, and have used older versions of QB for Mac prior to that for the last 15 years or so. It is, and always has been extremely difficult to find information/support on QB for Mac.
My business is a simple contracting business and I use QB mainly for recording transactions, send estimates & invoices and pulling P&L reports. I do not process payroll or utilize any online banking features through QB so none of that is of concern to me. My question is in regards to the email feature. After reading through your answers to the questions above, I see that you mentioned something about not being able to utilize email. I use the email feature to send invoices & estimates to my customers. I save them as a draft to my mac’s Mail program and then send them to my customers that way. Will I now lose the ability to do that?
Hello,
Yes, if you don’t update you’ll lose all ‘connected’ features that require internet use. ~Kindra/Team Candus
Hi Kindra. Juist to clerify for myself. I’m running Premier Contractor 2019 desktop. I understand that online backup, bank feeds and email is expired. I find it really sleazy that a company removes a feature that once worked and was paid for. As this is the 4th year since 2019, and it has not vapor locked on me, may I assume that at least the program will continue to run past May? Otherwise Intuit has in effect sold ransomeware. I’m hoping it will. If not, what is the monthly fee for desktop? Thanks for your input
Hi Spencer,
Previously Desktop had a three-year license before it was required to update if you wanted ‘connected’ services. Now it is an annual subscription. If you don’t need connected services, you should be able to continue to your older versions just as you have been using your 2019. If you do decide to update, it is an annual fee, not monthly. It depends on your version/amount of users as to the cost. If you ever want to contact our reseller in order to find out pricing options, you can email us at [email protected] for their information. Thanks! ~Kindra/Team Candus
I have a desktop. I believe 2010 never used it. Now I am thinking about using it. Need to know what is the best way to go now.
Hi Shirley,
That would be a choice. You can still use the 2010 if you don’t need any connected services such as emailing, bill pay, payroll, tech support, etc. If you want to start fresh, you can choose whether or not to use the annual Desktop subscription or the cloud-based QuickBooks Online.
Have a great day!
~Kindra/Team Candus
So to clarify on Desktop subscription we will still have access to bank feeds and payroll if needed. For those that want to start or move to the Desktop subscription, How can that be purchased? That is what I was searching for before that lead me to believe QB would only be focusing on the ONLINE version after May 2023. they make it so difficult to find info on anything other than QBO.
Hi Denise,
You can purchase Desktop 2023 through a reseller. If you’d like the contact info of the one we work with, you can email us at [email protected].
Have a great day! ~Kindra/Team Candus
still need understanding as to when opening desktop will be blocked. i am currently usinf 2022 acct version.
Hi Paul,
For 2022, it should expire a year from when you purchased it. ~Kindra/Team Candus
Staying with Desktop annual because I process PR.
Hi Kim,
Glad you know what you want to stick with! 🤩 ~Kindra/Team Candus
I would like to upgrade my desktop to the annual subscription through your 3rd party provider. Could you connect me please.
Hi Shel,
You can reach out to us at [email protected] and we can provide you their contact information. ~Kindra/Team Candus
Our business is a retailer and we use POS …. I have not received an email on the discontinuation … can you please advise?
Patt,
Here’s an article from Intuit with details: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/r/product-update/quickbooks-pos/?cid=DR_EM-ELM5479-001-Text1-Dktp_Notification_CritComm-NA-NAQA-CN-TRANS-NA-US-QBOA
I’m using 2023 desktop and can’t find anywhere how to correct some transactions I miss- categorized. How do you find your classed transactions and put them back in bank feeds? Do you have a video for that? Also do you have telephone support? I don’t do payroll or anything else besides classing and sending it to cpa.
Hi Catherine,
I will add your question to the list Candus uses to create new QuickBooks tips each month.
The best possible way for you to receive support from Candus is to register for and attend her workshop.

can you switch back to the older desktop version if you don’t want to pay the yearly subscription and would rather use old version and pay outside payroll?
What is the email to get older versions of desktop-pro and premier without having to have a subscription
Hi Annette,
According to Intuit ~ it’s not possible to open a file you saved in today’s version of QuickBooks using an older version of the software, nor is it possible to convert that file to make it compatible. If you want to use an older version of QuickBooks, you will need to open a backup file that you made using that version.
It’s difficult to find older versions of pro and premier now. We have a reseller we work with who sells 2023. If you’re interested in that, you can email us at [email protected]. ~Kindra/Team Candus
I wish to continue to use the desktop. I process payroll thru intuit. Can you send me info on the reseller or is it cheaper to get from intuit? Will intuit accept from reseller?
Sorry, I am so confused by all of this! Thanks!
Hi Brenda,
Yes, you can purchase both the updgrade and the payroll add-on through a reseller for the same price as Intuit. If you’d like our reseller’s information, please reach out at [email protected].
Thanks! ~Kindra/Team Candus
I I have been paying for the online for over a year when I got a message on my desktop that it would no longer have online backup etc.
I have been charged a monthly fee now for over a year to use online but don’t know how to access it.
If you are a QBO user, you should have a login email and password to access your account. ~Kindra/Team Candus
I am still safe (I think) I have Desktop 2021
Hi Pam,
Yes that is the last year for Pro that you could buy a three-year license. 😊 ~Kindra/Team Candus
