Learn how to update SUI and ETT in QuickBooks…

Employers, have you updated your Unemployment Rate (SUI)?

Don’t forget to UPDATE your SUI rates before you pay your employees in 2021 💡

Update SUI and ETT in QuickBooks Desktop

  • Go up to “Lists”
  • “Payroll Item List”
  • Go to your “State Unemployment” and open it
  • Click “Next”
  • Change your Rates
  • Click “Next”
  • Pop up screen will show “Payroll Tax Rate Change warning”
  • Click “Change”
  • Taxable compensation **Don’t edit**
  • Click “Next”
  • Click “Finish”

 

Update SUI and ETT in QuickBooks Online

  • Go up to the wheel
  • “Payroll Settings”
  • Go to “State Tax”
  • Click the little pencil to edit
  • Click “ Change or add new rate”
  • Add your new rate & effective date
  • Click “OK”

 

  • Go to your Employment Training Tax and open it
  • Click “Next”
  • Then click “Next” again
  • “Company Tax Rate”

 

**If you’re a California employer and you don’t know your rates you can log in to your EDD to check your employment tax/UI rates.
