As we start the 4th Quarter it’s a perfect time to start reviewing different areas of QuickBooks to make sure we don’t have mistakes and that our data is accurate for tax planning.
It’s common to ignore mistakes hoping one day they’ll get fixed, but what you may not know is these “old transactions” can not only impact your peace of mind but also your taxes (no one wants to overpay on taxes).
Maybe you’re thinking, “I don’t even know if I have mistakes, what do I look for?”
Then this workshop is perfect for you. I’m going to talk about how to find your mistakes in QuickBooks, (some of the best reports to pull to find them) and how to clean them up. Also, what’s causing them to happen so you can avoid making them in the future.
If you’ve tried using journal entries and still had issues afterward, you’ll learn why sometimes that’s not the best strategy.
This will be a live class with me and I’ll be doing Q&A at the end.

I’m excited to share this with you, it will be a lot of fun.
I look forward to seeing you there!

In QBs desktop. I have a problem with transactions showing up in the “make deposits” that are either duplicates or the customer is “Quickbooks Customer”. I don’t know how to get rid of these duplicate “deposits” and how to make transactions not show up as Quickbooks Customer or what to do when they do.
Hi Tatum,
It sounds like this might be an issue with your Undeposited Funds. Here is a video that may help you understand how that works: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cKm2ZaDLC8M
If you’re pretty confident in your QB skills, we do have a free workshop coming up next week on how to clean up mistakes inside of QB that might be beneficial. You can register for that here: https://canduskampfer.com/cleanup.
Have a great day!

Thank you for this video! I have been using both QBD and QBO for quite a while, but these are such simple and practical places to check for errors and I found some right away with an old credit with a vendor account I never entered the expense for. I struggle a lot with bank feeds duplicating postings with one of my clients as well as not being able to match up transfers with the bank feeds so they end up sitting in the “review” section since I don’t have access to my clients bank statements to reconcile. I look forward to your workshop!
Hi Kara,
We’re so glad to hear that! We’re looking forward to seeing you on the workshop as well. 😊
Have a great day,

A “work around” completed with QB Online support left my P&L showing Unapplied Cash Payment Income that duplicates paid invoices. I had processed payments on the invoices when the data was in my Desktop QB for Mac. I moved to QB Online where payments are supposed to be recorded through bank deposit, not through payment. There were a lot of corrections made to facilitate reconciliation, but I have not yet reconciled. Ultimately I want all of it straightened out… if possible. Depending on where I am looking in the database, I see examples similar to those you mention in describing the purpose of this workshop. Only only “correction” relied on a journal entry; it was an outlier that addressed a refund. Most were undoing the link to the invoice payment.
